1. critical thinking can help me as a teacher to understand better my students, analyze the information that they need and make a reflection about the education and how I can improve the knowledge and how to teach them properly.
ResponderEliminar2.I think the most different thing between a critical thinker teacher and standard teacher would be that the first one can help to improve day by day the students and recognize de knowledge that they need and the standard teacher only cares about give class and earn money, he doesn't care about his students or if they learn something or not.
3.Absolutely, critical thinking can help me to analyze and pay more attention to the details in the middle of the class or in every situation in life.
4.I think that I do a good reflection of every single thing that happens on my life and that's the most important thing, to be able to know if I need to correct something or maybe stop doing it if is something wrong.
1. How will critical thinking enable you to be better teachers?
ResponderEliminarThe critical thinking can help us as a teacher in a lot of ways, because when we applied that concept is our context of teaching we will be a nice teachers. First, we would think more in the problems in our class room, in effective strategies to use, in how we can motivate our students to learn. Also, analyzing, assessing, and recostructing our methods and approaches to make a good space for an educative space.
2. What is the difference between standard teacher and a critical thinker/teacher?
The difference between these tachers:
Standard teacher:
He doesn't care if the student is developing the skills and the knowledge is a good way, I mean, learning is an integral process that envolve auto-reflextion, be conscius of what the students are learning and why they are learning it.
A Critical thinker teacher:
Worries about what he is teaching, and why is teaching it, what is the better way to teach something, objectives, and also all time is thinknig about what is better for his students, doing self-reflection,and the ways to do the right things.
3. Do you think that critical thinking will help you?
Yes, critical thinking can help me in different ways to do better my job, recognizing and analyzing my context to be effective in the procces of teaching.
4. Are there any characteristics of critical thinker within you? If so, which ones?
Self-reflection, motivation and efficient. Because all time I'm thinking in myself, how can I be better for my students (Also for me) to do the procces of teaching-learning more effective. I care what I'm doing in the class room.
1. Critical thinking allows me to be a better teacher because it gives me the possibility to analyze, clarify and evaluate information, so that when I go to provide the information to my students, it is reliable. In the same way, I develop in my students the ability to argue solidly on a certain topic.
ResponderEliminar2. A standard teacher can have much knowledge in any branch of knowledge, but is not guaranteeing that the information that teacher has is reliable or true. Therefore, this teacher to become in a knowledge breeding machine. But the critical teacher can have little information but the information that he or she has, is properly explored, analyzed, and is reliable. The critical teacher is propositional.
3. Critical thinking helps me not to follow in the footsteps of others, to be a unique person, not to believe in words but in tangible evidences that exist for and against the subject of which is being talked about. People who do not have critical thinking usually follow the masses, and therefore are easily manageable. They follow ideas that are not their own, and defend them as if they were the only ones and true ones.
4. Open mind, motivation and intellectual humility. I think that these are the characteristics of critical thinking within me, because I use to be willing to learn new things. Also, I am aware of the limits of my own knowledge and the recognition of my wrongs.
1. Critical thinking can help me not only to develop my own skills but it can also be effective in teaching students different and better ways of reflecting on different aspects.
ResponderEliminar2. A standard teacher can have to reach the student but sometimes don`t know how to arouse interest in the student in the research for information. But the critical teacher encourages their students to defend positions, analyze concepts, solve problems and create new ideas.
3. Can help me extract relevant information, create new ideas to interpret information effecively.
4. Some characteristics of critical thinking can be curiosity, interest in information, trust and open mind to new ideas.
1. Critical thinking enable me to be a better teacher because it allows me to think over the information i share with my students, if it is good or not and also to idwntify if the information is appropiated for them.
ResponderEliminar2. An standard teacher just do their job for a living and that is it, it means that standard teachers never wonder about their methodologies they use in class so it is always the same. On the other hand, a reflective teacher does think about their classes and also improve their teaching style in order to get a better results according to the different learning styles of students.
3. Of course, critical thinking will allow me to search more and believe less.
4. I always search aboout the topics which are interesting for me.
1. HOW WILL CRITICAL THINKING ENABLE YOU TO BE BETTER TEACHERS?
ResponderEliminarCritical thinking is a process that aims to analyze, understand or evaluate the way in which knowledge is intended to interpret and represent the world, in particular the opinions or affirmations that in everyday life are generally accepted as true.
Every workday, the teacher must take decisions, and his decisions has to be successful and appropriate, more than any another person, by his responsibility with the society, and here resides the critical thinking, take decisions through critical thinking, analyzing the situation and do the better in any case.
2. What are the difference between standard teacher and critical teacher?
The standard teacher can act by instinct, is so probably that their decisions are not appropriate, while the critical teacher search the best option to take it and executer it.
3. DO YOU THINK THAT CRITICAL THINKING WILL HELP YOU?
Yes of course, starting by, a critical thinking need a high reading level, and that means has a mind more open with more options to see them, so you can analyze and choose the better for you or your students.
4. ARE THERE ANY CHARACTERISTICS OF CRITICAL THINKING WITHIN YOU, IF SO, WICH ONES?
I should admit that, since I am seeing a course called "discourses analysis" I also open my mind, because we need to be more critical with we read, obviously not all information that we read is true, there is something called "social assumptions" are things that People do not question because it supposes that it is so and that is not going to change, that is the importance of critical thinking, can to differ what is true or fake, and to differ what can serve us and what not.
Being critical about something means having an opinion or the ability to make one considering the circumstances. Teachers need to be very critical regarding their students. A standard teacher is one that goes into the classroom with probably the same notes and schedules from the beginning of his or her career. They are the most common kind of teachers in Colombia and many of us have had them in front of a room. Many teachers just stand in front of the class and start talking nonsense. Kids nowadays have access to so much information, for this reason we must be updated as well.
ResponderEliminarCritical thinking can help us develop information filters. It is important to filter data because of this so-called ‘’information era’’. Many people express their opinion on social media, blogs or websites. Some of this info may be wrong or influenced by personal judgments. Critical thinking comes in handy for teachers as allows them to be more prepared for classes. Being critical gives you the chance to analyze the information as mentioned before. Also, it helps you ‘’read’’ and interpret the signs that one may find in a classroom. For example, it helps to notice if a lesson is being appreciated or does not get to the students.
I think that since I am in this major, I am more critical about the world. Investigation subjects have taught me that you can’t believe everything that is published or everything that teachers say. Questioning is a very important part of thinking critically. Doubting about some things makes you want to know more and discover what’s underneath of all what people say.
- Critical thinking enable me to be a better teacher because it helps me to analyze, understand, improve and evaluate my pedagogical practice (what to teach, how to teach, why to teach, and who to teach) as well as to understand my students´ needs and to try to transform their contexts with a quality education.
ResponderEliminar- A standard teacher is a person who only base his/her teaching in textbooks, and only share his/her knowledge but without take into account what is what the students want to learn and what really help them to face the reality they are in. On the contrary, teachers who are also critical thinkers are those who try to understand what is happening in their daily teaching, what is the real context in which they work, and with what kind of people they are dealing with. Also, a teacher who thinks critically is able to reflect about all those lifes he/she could changes with a proper education.
- I do believe that critical thinking will help me, for example to identify those problematic situations that may affect the classroom and its surroundings, to be aware of my students’ needs, to help them to create solutions for their problems and to direct my teaching into what they are interested and motivated to learn.
- Yes. Self-reflection is one of them, which helps me to questioning everyday what kind of teacher I want and don´t want to be. I’m open minded, which allows me to understand people and the different contexts I may work with. I’m always willing and aware of variety of knowledge because I think is more effective to teach from different perspectives rather than teach always the same thing in the same way.
1. Critical thinking consists to analyze and evaluating those claims that society accepts as true in the context of everyday life. The teacher must exercise his profession of a critical way because thereby he could assume the diversity of implications present in the practice of education. In this sense, the teacher as a social actor will be a critical subject who is constantly informing himself about his social and political reality, and then will be able to improve it with his actions and decisions.
ResponderEliminar2. A standard teacher does not question everything he sees, reads, or hears, therefore, he is more prone to make wrong decisions because his arguments can be very poor. On the hand, a teacher with critical thinking demands clarity and evidences, since he tries to avoid false impressions, this allows him to improve his educational practices and his work as a social subject.
3. Yes, I think that having critical thinking will help me developing the capacity for making analysis and argumentation, not only with the information that I see daily, but also will allow me to be critical with myself and in this way to improve my teaching practice and my role in the society.
4. Yes, I have some characteristics of critical thinker, I wonder about many things that I read or hear, however, I admit that it is not always so. After the conversations in class and research on the subject, I am aware of the importance of being a teacher with critical thinking.
1. Critical thinking will bring the capacity to ask about the self-teaching abilities, how can you as the coordinator of activities improve always in a better way each lesson through the lesson plan, the activities it has, the adaptation to targets of the institution then starting to make changes in the different content and teaching practices as the students and the context enclose.
ResponderEliminar2 The standard teacher is one of the teachers that do no create knowledge or modify his practicing in the context in which is involved, his/her follow the chats as them said, and teach without any fundamental reason; in difference with a critical thinker that is thinking in prosses to achieve effectible and conscious the improvement of the students.
3 Critical thinking will help as you be aware about in which circumstances is possible adapt, teaching will be one context to use it as tool in the teaching profession.
4 I believe that some characteristics of critical thinker within me are: curiosity, objectivity, reflective and autonomous.
1. I think that critical thinking is a very necessary skill for the education of the human being because it will allow me to be the agent that promotes reflexive questions in the classroom or virtual learning environment. Likewise, to know what others think, to help confront, to reformulate and develop their ideas, help understand their own thinking, diagnose, engage the group and learn the implications of a new idea.
ResponderEliminarFrom my point of view, I consider that the mission of the school is not so much to teach the student a multitude of knowledge that belong to very specialized fields, but above all, to learn to learn, to ensure that the pupil acquires intellectual autonomy. This can be achieved by assisting in the development of higher order skills such as critical thinking.
2. A standard teacher helps the student to develop an already established knowledge, just as it is focused on a simple discourse that is not adapted to the thinking and attitudes of students, while a critical teacher on the contrary creates an environment where the student Raise and create new ideas or analyze existing ideas. It is someone who helps in the construction and formation of political beings who take a stand as integral and cosmopolitan citizens in the diversity of human issues that affect the world.
3. Of course, I think that critical thinking will help me to foster the development of an intellectual autonomy in the student. Likewise, to use the strategies proposed by this to model the critical spirit, awakening and nurturing those attitudes of analysis and judgment that enable the autonomy and maturity of students through expression and participation in the classroom.
4. I consider that if I have some characteristics like for example I question much the root of things, I go further and analyze things. In the same way, self-reflection because I am always questioning about aspects to improve.

2. What is the difference between standard teacher and a critical thinker/teacher?
There is one thing that can describe what differences have a critical and a standard teacher. Critical knows why he or she does what he or she do, standart just knows how to do the things.
3. Do you think that critical thinking will help you?
Sure, as I said before, critical thinking can help me to know how to do the things correctly, because it makes me realyze why the things are done the way they are.
4. Are there any characteristics of critical thinker within you? If so, which ones?
I'm always looking around me and analysing what is happening, and I am the type of person that usually learn watching more than reading or listening.
